StadioPlus AMA Recap
AMA Recap to Jon Fatelevich, CEO and co-founder of StadioPlus.
Hello Friends, welcome to the third AMA of the Crypto Birds community!
We are honoured to be joined for this by our friends from StadioPlus
Jon Fatelevich, CEO and co-founder of StadioPlus, is in the room to talk about the project and clarify all our doubts.
Jon (StadioPlus): Good afternoon/evening everyone depending on where you are. It’s a pleasure to be here, and I hope that many people from the StadioPlus community will be joining the CryptoBirds community as they have a great project.
Federico (Crypto Birds): First of all, we would like to ask you to introduce yourself briefly so that the community can get to know you.
Jon (StadioPlus): I am Argentinian, I have been living in Spain for 14 years now, I was a professional basketball player for 3 years, I created a hardware company in 1999 that I led for 17 years. I have always been an entrepreneur with a predilection for projects related to technology and sport.
About 8 years ago, I was introduced to blockchain technology and 4 years ago to NFTs through CryptoKitties.
That’s when I realised that this technology could help the sports industry, as athletes, clubs and leagues produce a lot of valuable digital content, but were not monetising it.
That’s how my friends and business partners Luis Scola, Juan de Dios Crespo and David Ortega decided to create StadioPlus to help the sports ecosystem to get into the WEB 3.0 world.
Federico (Crypto Birds): Well, let’s dive right in. The first thing I’d like to ask you to do is to provide a clear definition for the community of what StadioPlus is.
Jon (StadioPlus): StadioPlus is an NFT platform focused on the sports and eSports industry, we create our own collections or collections for athletes, clubs or major leagues.
We are currently developing a white label platform (SaaS) so that any athlete, team or league may have their own NFT platform.
We are currently closing a lot of agreements with Metaverses and P2E so that the NFTs we create and those created by our partners have more utilities and usability. Because we believe that 90% of the utilities of NFTs are in the virtual worlds.
Federico (Crypto Birds): Could you tell us about StadioPlus’ business model and who it is aimed at?
Jon (StadioPlus): In relation to our agreements with athletes, clubs or leagues, we have a revenue share model, in which they provide their IP (image) and we do all the rest of the work: we create the NFT, do the marketing and communication, we receive payments and share the revenue.
The SaaS model will be in principle exactly the same: they build their platform with our technology and we then receive a percentage of the sales.
In our agreements with Metaverses, we offer the metaverse a percentage of the NFTs to be sold in order to make a profit on them. With the added bonus that if we sell NFTs that are used in their metaverse, we send them new users and more traffic.
Federico (Crypto Birds): Could you tell us a little bit about StadioPlus’ partners?
Jon (StadioPlus): We have different types of Partners:
Technological: Chromia, Polygon, BSC whose technology we use or which in other cases we will use soon. In some cases, they have even invested in our company.
In the Metaverse section, we have a very important agreement with Decentraland, specifically with Vegas City, which is the area where the sporting events take place. We are closing 3 or 4 new agreements with other metaverses or P2E games.
In sports, we have signed agreements with athletes from the NBA, ATP, LaLiga, Serie A, first division teams from Argentina and Spain and we also hope to be able to announce soon an important agreement with a TOP League worldwide.
But the truth is that the big stuff is yet to come and we don’t want to announce it until we finish our token launch.
Federico (Crypto Birds): To finish off… I would like you to tell us a little bit about the STADIO token. What will be the uses of this token? And tell us about the private sale that is currently active.
Jon (StadioPlus): It is the means of payment on both our NFT platform and the white label platforms of all our partners (athletes, clubs and famous leagues).
The token can be staked to receive discounted NFTs, free NFTs, access to private spaces in Metaverses where you gain access to exclusive content, access to masterclasses of famous athletes, access to events in the physical world such as matches, VIP lounges, Airdrops, collaborations with other sports and eSports projects that accept our token as a means of payment, etc.
The private round is $5.000.000 and we have $3.000.000 reserved for now, we hope to close the round in the next few weeks, we have some new investors interested in putting in $500.000 tickets and it is well underway. And the most interesting part is that the investors are not only people who want to put their money in but also people who will bring a lot of value to the project. In the private phase, the token is at $0.10 which is a 50% discount.
Federico (Crypto Birds): This last question goes beyond StadioPlus…. What impact do you think NFTs, fan tokens and the crypto world in general will have during the upcoming World Cup in Qatar?
Jon (StadioPlus): Not much impact, the technology is still too green to have an important utility in the World Cup, there may be some collections that raise a lot of money, but the companies that currently sponsor teams or competitions earn more money with the rise of their own token when they announce the news than with what they earn from the sale of the NFTs. And if they sell very expensive NFTs without a clear utility, surely in most cases they will end up dropping in price a lot.
Although we are a very small percentage of people who know what an NFT is, how to buy it or get something out of it, the mainstream or mass adoption will come in a few years. But now is a good time to learn about it and position ourselves.
I meet with athletes, clubs and leagues and the first thing I tell them is that what they have read in the news is only 1% of cases that have gone well, what the news doesn’t show is that 99% of the times that have been a failure. This is why I tell them that if we are going to work together, we are going to come up with a plan that makes sense, because we can’t put in all the work together to only make a few thousand euros more.
Federico (Crypto Birds): Thank you so much Jon for taking the trouble to answer so many questions.
It has been a real pleasure to have you with us and to be able to chat with you.
I don’t know if there’s anything you’d like to say in closing?
Jon (StadioPlus): A pleasure, I loved being here. I love this community; I commend you and thank you for the questions and for how respectful and kind you have all been.
Just to say that StadioPlus is a medium- and long-term project, with solid foundations and future projection. We would love to have people from the Crypto Birds community supporting us and helping us to grow.
Thank you very much and see you soon.
StadioPlus will help create a new digital economy for sports and esports on Web 3.0.
